Hi In Lisbon a MCS with no options costs 27500,00€ I got 17" S spokes, dark silver paint, half leather, MFSW, Harmon Kardan, glove box cover, PDC and a few other little things. Discount of about 800,00€ and final cost of 30.500,00€

I tried to participate but I have no cluse as to the conversion from $. I paid $27,000 for a basically loaded MCS minus satelite and rear parking device. No works or body kit either. Other than those, it's loaded. Hope this helps.

It looks like the exchange rate is about 1.8 USD to the pound, so that would make US $27K about GBP 15K. Of course when you bought your car the exchange rate was probably closer to 1.7, making for GBP 15.9K.

I paid $24,000 (U.S.) dollars for a fully spec'ed MCS. Every package including the SAT Nav, HK upgrade, and cd changer. Bargain shopping. and yes, it was factory spec'ed '04, purchased from the dealer, take home price. Last edited by jlivengo; Mar 22nd, 2004 at 01:20 PM.

Just more proof that Great 'rip off' Britain must be one of the most expensive places to buy a new car! I mean, how come Canada gets free metallic paint! CD as standard in USA. You can't even buy fri66in tapes in most UK music stores! Arrrggggh. Head Explodes rant over! MCS, One Day!

I think this poll would be more relevant if it were restricted to only one country at a time. The prices for MINIs in the US look particularly good at the moment because of the way the $ has plumetted. It has gone from about 1.4 to almost 1.9 to the pound in the last couple of years which makes a huge difference to what is paid. I would imagine that MINI will not be making much of a profit at the moment for cars sold in the US given the manufacturing base is in the UK. Also people should only post what they paid a dealer for a brand new car.

Some of us here got a special tax free, below MSRP deal. Most people in the states would have paid 27K to 28K for my MCS. Since I live in Germany, I don't pay German or U.S. taxes. If I was to purchase a MINI on the local economy, I'd be paying a 16% tax. Ouch.

This poll although not scientific it must make the hearts of the manufacturers and dealers glow,as clearly most of us are mug enough to spend £1000s to spec the cars up to what in many cases they should have been in the first place. Apparently the dealers make more on the up rating of spec than they do on the sale of the basic car
