its an MCS 2002... the first winter (which is no less than 15 degrees celsius so it aint that cold) used to take 3 - 4 times.. now after upgrading to V36 (i think its cause of that) it takes 2 attempts when the engine hasnt been running for a while.. annoying really...

On the O2 after its been sitting have you tried. First turning the key to the on Position waiting for the fuel pump to pressurize the lines then starting the car.

I had a Jan 02 build MCS with the Fabled Cold Start Problem. Which is what your describing. With that by allowing the fuel pump to pressurize ( you hear it whine then stops which takes about 10secs or less after sitting for a long time). The car would start on first or second attempt. If not it would take 3-6 attempts.

Until we meet on the road

Do you mean trying to start the car and giving up, having to retyr again before it starts, or do u mean how many times does the starter motor 'turnover' before the engine starts up while holding the key?

nope what i mean is your first option with the "giving up".. turning the key to ignite for a few seconds.. realizing its not working stoping.. and going over..

Oh right, well in that case she starts first time everytime fortunatly. I was just wondering about my second comment about it taking a while before it starts up after i initially turn the key, as mine always takes a few seconds to catch and seems to struggle which is not what i would expect for a new car

Just once all the time... unless I accidently release it too fast and thought it started... but that only happened like once or twice since new.

It would take 2-4 tries before software V. 32 (I believe) came out. Now it starts every time on one try.
