I shift right before 3000. I have been driving high-torque engines for too long, so I am used to an early shift. Generally I shift my truck at 1800. It feels weird to bring the engine much past 4000, but I still do it from time to time. It doesn't help too that when my father taught me to drive he would smack me anytime I would rev the engine. After all of the years I still won't rev unless I need to.

When I want to save gas, I leave the car in the garage. Sure makes for a boring day!
