pure silver or dark silver?

which is better in your opinion. and why? is one sportier, classier, cheaper looking than the other? and both would be with a black top and mirrors.

Probably not so much of a problem anymore, but I know lighter silver paints were prone to oxidize pretty quickly back in the day. Still, for that reason I never really liked lighter silver on cars, and am now biased against "Pure Silver." I've always liked the "gunmetal grey" color, but it's purely personal. I would take an MCS in any of the colors offered, though. They all look great to me.

Of course the Dark Silver is unique to the S where as the pure silver is across the entire range.

I would think that it would just be a matter of what you like...I have a DS/B "S" coming in around 9 days (it was just discharged in NY). I happen to like darker colors however, Pure Silver/Black are Harley Davidson's Anniversary colors!! These are good, too. Either one you pick I'm sure you'll be happy with.

Dark silver/black. Classic look, very nice. I get almost as many comets about the color as I do about the car itself. Plus when the dark silver is waxed and polished it will almost sparkle at night in the reflection of the headlights of the cars I am whizzing past. Beautiful!

Pure silver for German cars - but DS for the MCS. ours is on order...

Dark silver, great color, and, like EB, it's unique to the MCS.

I get many comments on what a great color my MCS is. Unfortunately in the New England region it also seems to be the most common color.

I would pick dark silver but I wouldn't discount pure silver either, it has a certain "crispness" about it and definatly makes the MCS look tidy. As far as silvers go MINI's is very nice with small pigments and not yellowish. I just wish that they would offer pure silver with a white roof and bonnet stripes. There was a picture on this site that showed a silver MINI with white stripes and it was stunning.

I think the DS suits the MCS very very well. Not too sure about the PS, although the black roof would help. If you want to go for a dark roof I reckon DS/DS looks awesome.

I have a Feb 04 PS/B S and am very pleased with her, no paint probs and best of all I am yet to see another on the road But as they say all the colors are good, the dark blue (indy?) looks fantastic with an Areo kit

i haven't seen many ps s's which means they're quite rare! personally i think it looks great. DS S's are a bit too common now.
