First Timer-question

Hello everyone, and welcome me to the mini community hehe. I am going to order my mini after 2 days and i have decided dark silver for sure. Can you please tell me some opinions on what colour the roof black or the same colour, bonnet stripes etc. Also for the interior?

Hi - welcome to MINI2
I was planning to get viper stripes on my DS/B MCS, but ended up getting an aftermarket DS checked roof, which I still like 12 months later.

There are lots of choices though, so have a look at all of them before deciding

Thanks for your reply. I really like your roof but really i have a problem on deciding the roof to be black or the same colour. White i have neglected it because im not installing a sunroof and i dont like white mirrors.

I believe i will go to the same colour roof.

I like dark silver with white roof and white bonnet stripes... but I'm a girl and I think boys like them to be a bit darker and more aggressive looking! Interior - alloy patina all the way!

going for white roof can sometimes make the car look 3 tone in colour, as in:


body = silver
a frames = black
roof = white

or having a same colour roof as body work, can make the car appear lower and squatter etc.

each to there own. i went for solid black body and solid black roof. the stealth machine option.

I reckon DS/W all the way! thats what mine is, and i think the white actually lightens the silver a bit. plus, everyone seems to go for the black roof, so you gotta be different

did actually see a pic somewhere on here of a DS/DS and must say was surprised how well it looked... still think DS/W though!

I went with dark silver with white roof w/ white stripes. I think it's a cool combo that you don't see very often. One of the unique features of MINI is the contrasting roofs, not getting it is like ordering pancakes at the Waffle House. How could you not.

btw, oleum... nice rims! those are sweeeeeet.

Mine is a DS/B. It's a great combo, makes it look very sleek. Check out my gallery for some pics.

if you dislike white mirrors, you can always spec the Chrome mirrors, I think they're $150 or something. That way you get the white roof (joeyjoe's view is the same as mine) without white mirrors.

Not sure why not getting the sunroof affects your roof color choice.... If you did get the sunroof I could see maybe not liking the big black glass in the middle of white, but its not much of an issue the other way, either black or white looks fine without a sunroof.

DS/W again and again!, the only thing I wouldn't do is have white wheels!.

I just love the contrast between the moody silver! and the bright white, almost like a top hat!

Anyway, I can come down from dream land now!!

a-HHAA! see what ive started now?! looks like there are more fans of DS/W out there than i thought! I love the contrast too, especially when you add the clear lights in (see my gallery) although i shouldnt be broadcasting this, don't want to lose my exclusivity tag

nice one nylo, I have one question though, would you choose the same interior if your were to order again?? (it's the last thing I have to choose before the baby is built!)
