Hi, In the UK there are different aspects of the JCW "package". They are all "dealer-fitted" so yes, you can have them fitted at any time. JCW Tuning Kit - This gives you the extra performance and is what most people would go for. JCW 18" Wheels - Very nice, at a price. JCW Seats - Again, at a price. Not my cup of tea, but if you like racing about then I'm sure you'd like them.

Its basically the same in the US, though I don't know if the seats or wheels are available yet, they should be soon. Anyway, the actual performance package is pretty common to install after delivery, so not a problem at all to do it that way. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball.

As far as what I have read, the JCW seats are not available in the U.S. because they do not have side air bags. Obviously a small company like JCW does not manufacture their own seats - they are most likely made by a seat manufacturer under contract as a modification of a standard racing replacement seat. I do not know of any accessory seat manufacturers that are puitting in side air bags because it would be impossible to make the bags "universal" enough to work with all the different configurations in different makes and models of car. So if you feel bad about not having the JCW seats, perhaps we can find photos of dead Europeans with crushed skulls still strapped into them to make you feel a little better.(just kiddding)

If you install race seats, you'll only really void the warranty on the seats, and if you hate them, then who cares if you voided the warranty on your seats. Of course you do need a dealer that understands people will change a few things. In general, the Magnusson Moss Warranty act pretty clearly states you can change something, and only what you changed is out of warranty. Of course if you have a really picky dealer, they could start complaining about the electrical system because the seats connect to it, etc, etc. I'd worry more about doing something to your engine (like turbocharging it) which could easily void the warranty on the entire drivetrain. Replacing the seats with ones you don't hate, shouldn't be a big issue. Of course you do need to address the airbag issue, but people have used various methods to deal with that. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball.

The US JCW kit is only for performance. No new seats, no new wheels. This link documents the installation into GBMINI ...
