Unhappy Vital Specing Information for all New Mini2'ers

A word of advice that never really came home to me until it is now to late.

MAKE SURE YOU ADD THE MFSW TO YOU SPEC!!!

I have had my car less that a week and i havent even got rid of the Wave Head unit yet and got its bad not having it!! I had similar on my old focus and god you get addicted!! Its only £160 just add it, you wont notice the diff on the cost really and you will use the buttons on it lots every day!!

i drive with my hand on the gear stick most of the time (i know im a chav) and the radio is just out of reach so u have to move (laxy i know!), soooo annoying!

Shame retro fitting them is such a farce!! I will now have to buy a stick on for the wheel to match the bluepunkt im buying, gutted.....

retro fit can be done, shop around for a wheel, then read up on some posts, but it has been done by other users

But you are so right, I don't know how anyone survives without MFSW, it is also one option that is good on resale too

i don't agree that everyone should get it...................its a matter of personal opinion............the buttons on the new 3 spoke MFSw are not as comfortable to use as buttons on the back of the wheel IMO..............therefore it is unlikley I will add it to my spec

I've specced it .... for the money I think it's a must... unless you really have something against it.

I see that one of the R/H buttons that used to switch between modes (CD / Radio) is missing on the 3 Spoke MFSW. Is there a way around this by using another combination of presses or do we have to reach over & press the Button on the Radio now ??

Just to balance any advice on MFSW there are other considerations. The resale value
is good but otherwise it all adds up. £160 for MFSW, £70 CD, £140 Boost totals £370.
For that you can buy a top class after market HU which will have remote control thrown
in, sometimes a c/card size wireless remote or a fixed control or some even give you
both. My Blaupunkt has a wireless remote that fixes to the steering wheel and has
controls specific to the functioning of HU as well as falling to hand very easily. If you
like the MFSW fine but it's not for everyone.

Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help
but smile when you shove them down the stairs

But as i understood the MSFW also comes with cruise control as well. My dad just got a new car, and they were charging £600 for cruise control, so for all that for £160, pretty damn good to me!!
I am gonna find it very handy when i have to drive through the stupid tunnel that now has speed camera's that time you, even tho there have been noooo crash's in there, and it is very hard to stick to 30mph when you have people pushing you all the time, now i can just stick it on, and not worry about it!!!

The cruise control being part of that price certainly makes it much better value for money.

Retro fit costs uber cash does it not? Blaupunkt do a nice looking unit to connect to the wheel that i might take a look at, least its cheap!

How often do you guys with MFSW use the C control?, I am seriously thinking of adding it to my spec seeing as though I HAVE to go to the dealers today! Also does the MFSW control mp3 CD's?

0 days to go....lets drive!!!
CAN YOU TELL WHAT IT IS YET!!!!

You can sometimes pick the wheels up second hand it's a DIY job for many people who aren't afraid to get their hands grubby. (Not that I'd try it, scared of air bags!).
