| Question for out of state purchasers... So like many others to avoid the Californian BS of dealer mark-ups, I ordered out of state and saved myself over $5k which I used to re-model my garage - gratuitous pictures below :-) Question - I'm having our MCS trucked over from Classic Mini, but was wondering where you physically take possession of the vehicle ? I can't imagine a car transporter pulling up outside our house ! The beast waiting for company |

| nice garage! i've heard of people getting it delivered directly to their door from MINI of Hamptons via whatever service they used i've also heard of it being delivered to a nearby dealership or to the shipping company's closest location. http://ibooth.net/s-banner-small.jpg Current Status: Picked up 11/10 and still haven't wiped the grin off of my face!! |

| We're in San Diego, and had ours trucked out from Westchester MINI (NY) and dropped off at our doorstep last year. It was no problem. | Hey Coati, Did you have it trucked via open truck or enclosed? Currently, I have found that from TX-AZ, open truck costs around $500-1000, enclosed trailer is about $1500. I am trying to debate which way to go. Enclosed sounds great, but many people have said that an open truck is nothing to worry about. (e.g. bugs, rocks etc etc) |

| Ours was an open truck. The car arrived a little dirty/grimy (it crossed the country in January '03), but otherwise fine. | I bought my 05 MCS from Classic MINI and was delivered using a closed transport by Concours Transport. Depending on how wide and busy your street is, the driver will let you know if he is comfortable in unloading cars on your street. You can always go to a empty parking lot and unload it there to be safer. That is one bad ass garage by the way! |
