Sorry...couldn't contain my excitement. I called MINI USA's help line today to see if the websites date of 5/10 or the dealer's sheet of 5/18 was the correct one. She told me that the dealer's sheets are old estimates and that she'd check my VIN out herself. Turns out both dates were wrong. The car is leaving NJ in less than 72 hours! And NJ is only about a four hour drive from Baltimore. I should have my "S" on Thursday (at least my dealer will).
My dealer (Towson MINI) puts the car in a special presentation room, wrappped in a huge bag. They unzip it for you, give you a t-shirt, and have candies on the seat awaiting you. Hell, I'm liable to be so excited I'll jump in and drive away with candies up my ass !!!
YAHOOOOOOOOOO !!!

Electric Blue w/ Sport Package...first "S" delivered in Maryland (5/10/02)
I've been everywhere but the electric chair...I've seen everything but the wind.
I just got off the phone with Monica and seems my DS S is waiting to be loaded onto a truck for Virginia Beach. She said, well they have stops, so our cars may be riding together.
Ken, Great news!! I hope some of that rubs off on my S and he starts to fight his way out of VDC with yours. Mine is due out the 11th. I also just had an e-mail from my dealer/salesman with the final price figures. Including my selections from the accessories catalog...$22007.50. period.
None of this out of line BS markups.I have nothing but great accolades for the people at MINI of Clayton
(St Louis).
Enjoy Ken, keep us posted

Great news, Ken and madhatter! They did the same for me with the car under wraps treatment and all. Don't be surprised if you get a Mini polo shirt instead of a plain old T-shirt, though.
