Hello All
Just thought I'd start a post on what people part exchanged for their new mini.

When I bought my 2002 Mini Cooper S I part exchanged my 1999 Jaguar S Type .
A choice that friends and family thought strange but I could not be more happy with my decision.

So what did you part exchange ?

Thumbs up

I p/x'd a 2000 Citroen Saxo VTR for my 2004 MCS - I loved the car, but the French build quality wasn't exactly brilliant + I wanted a little more power . Definately made the right decision

I part-ex'ed a 1.8T VW Beetle that I had for 18 Months - I made the mistake of buying the same car twice in that the Turbo replaced my 2.0l Beetle. Even though it has all the bits of a Golf with a different lid it handles like a barge, at speed it is really scary.

I now have a nice and shiny MCS and it is the best car that I have had, wouldn't swap for another MINI though as I don't feel that you gain that much between the 04 and 05 for the money.

If it survives 18months without being swapped for something else it will be a record for me as I get bored with cars very easily. At the moment there is nothing that I would replace it with and I have had it almost a year - power of the MINI!!!!

Just about to visit GT Tuning to upgrade to their 210bhp kit - so it will be like having a new car )

Just after getting a divorse I traded the familiy car Mazda 626 in for 1 year old MCS
Next friday I'm getting the Digi-tec 210 bhp tuning kit, I'm very much looking forward to that.

The kids live with me but fit well in the Mini. If I need a big car for driving to the Ikea I borrow someone else's car

I think I will never trade in the Mini! My son want's it when he turns 18, but no way!

Rover Coupe

I traded in my 1995 Rover 200 Coupe, which I had for about 4 years...

It was getting on a bit (understatement) and it was time for a change. A lot of things were wrong with it, such as air con, heating system not working properly, needed new brakes, few oil leaks, etc. BUT the dealer (not a MINI dealership) just walked round the car and offered me trade price ~£1000.
This would have been an excellent deal, but I was not happy and negotiated another £500 or so (including money off the MCS; which was on for £16k) so cost £14500 to change over.

Needless to say, I was well over the moon..

Living with Sphinx for just under a month now, and loving it.

I was going to P/X my 99T Fiesta Zetec on my Cooper, but they only offered me £2100. So I sold it privately for £3600!

Ford focus

Traded in my Y-reg ford focus 1.6 zetec. Great car to drive, but I took too many jibes from my mates for driving a family car so it had to go.

Now they just deride me for driving a hairdressers car. MCS? A hairdressers car? Phillestines.....

Eh? Who stole my signature?

A Toyota 4Runner... and never looked back. Decided if I needed a car for the snow I didn't need to drive in the first
place.
