Milltek Stainless Steel CAT Back Exhaust

I enjoyed my day on the rolling-road at AmD in Bicester, Oxfordshire, last year and have thought about replacing the standard S exhaust with the AMD Milltek Stainless Steel CAT Back Exhaust, latest price is £399 supplied and fitted.

Has anyone had this done, possibly at AMD, and if so are you pleased with the result?

I phoned my insurance company regarding the exhaust modification and it seems that I will be able to cope with the price hike, but need to think about TLC and how my local dealer with react...any advice or feedback on experiences would be most appreciated.

Are you required by statute to report modifications to your insurance company? Is the change in insurance premium to cover the additional value of the modification or is the additional premium levied because your modified car is deemed to be less safe?

Just curious.

I just know its one of the questions that insurance companies ask you when filling in the details for them to provide you a quote, if you do not decare modifications then they can decide to void any insurance claim on this basis! How they calculate the additional premium and why I have not asked; could be that they feel that cars with modifications are potentially 'non-standard' and this gives them thoughts that non-standard driving may occur - e.g. will an exhaust modification be just for noise/tone pleasure, or for increase of speed? So they tend to up the premium; a way of increasing proffit...me thinks!

I have the Milltek headers and cat back, love the sound, not to loud but it will rip if you stomp on the gas. Also on the Milltek setup makes some of the highest torque # out there. I put them in myself, if you're just doing the cat back, shouldn't take more than a couple of hours.

On the insurance, do they cover the cost of replacement aftermarket parts should they wrecked?

How much did you pay for your Milltek cat back?

Got mine from webbmotorsports.com for about $700, can't remember exactly how much, got the manifold and cat back at the same time.

dont worry about your tlc, i have got chip twin cooper s exhaust typhoon induction and sports cat manifold and i had my first tlc yesterday and they said nothing about the mods, just did the service and handed the car back to me all ready for another load of miles of fun!!

they even hoovered and cleaned and freshened seats and seat belts!

great service from the peeps at sytner nottingham

if your dealer is funny about your mods then go elsewhere!!

You know, if you get your privelege membership and go to MINISPEED, you can get the Miltek for 348.93 GBP (650 USD) before your 10% privelege membership. That is what I am going to do if Rakey cannot hook me up!

I'd be lost if I had somewhere to be!

Miltek produce the best exhausts, they sound excellent not too chavie and over the top. My boyf has one fitted to his non-mini car (boo) and it gave him an extra 10-15 bhp which doesnt sound alot but it all helps! well worth the fork out and if you are looking to further increase power AMD are the people to do it
