ive seen people using 19% on track... without much problem, i've also seen alot of problems with 19 tho... i'd think a big intercooler would benefit the 19 quite a bit... personally i love my 15% but if i'd do ita gain i might try the 17, as it is just at the limit of the supercharger... 03 Dark Silver MCS w/ White roof

I'm thinking about going with the 17% over the 15%. I decided a long time ago that I wasn't going to get the 19%, but I put it in the poll anyway. This is my daily driver so I don't want anything that is risky to the motor. The 17% seems pretty safe just as the 15% is. I will probly order my 17% tomorrow, unless somebody can convince me otherwise... Soon to be a Cooper S owner...

ive got the 15% ... it is awesome, but if i were to do it again, i would prob going the 17%.. im not sure how much more power you would get. but i think the more low down power the better. its a hard toss up... im getting an ECU as soon as i can afford it, and that will prob give me the same juice as a 17% or a 19%.. i dont know.. but you may aswell save yourself the cost of the ECU and get the 17%.. 19% would prob be safe, but there is that 'possible' risk. benno

i have decided to go with the 15% pulley. Here is what Alta had to say... "For long term reliability of the entire powertrain the 15% pulley is certainly the best way to go. This still increases HP but does not go near or beyond the thermal efficiency of the S/C. Both the 17 and 19% begin to push the envelope to and beyond the safe levels. Both are ideal choices for consumers that demand the fastest stop light performance but don't routinely maintain RPM's at WOT in excess of 6K RPM. Extended use in the upper reaches of the RPM band with a 17 or 19 can compromise the integrity of the S/C. A larger top mount intercooler is a near must with either of those choices while only recommended for maximum performance with a 15% pulley." Soon to be a Cooper S owner...
