Something about this car just brings the devil out in me
I woke up in a foolhardy mood today. As the sun was shining, I took the opportunity to unchain myself from my desk and hit the open road. And boy did I have some fun. I absolutely love this car, the more I drive it, the more it amazes me how well engineered it is. I hit some bends at speeds that I had no right to get round but the Mini just ate them up, egging me on to take the next one faster.
I'm intrigued as to how the new Mini can better this one....time will tell if it can. One thing I will say……..the Supercharger will be sorely missed.
Mo I thought the same, but I tell you the difference between the 05 MINI and the 03 is a huge difference and for the better, so this car just keeps going from strength to strength
I had to go pick up my new ACU Gold Helmet on Saturday - meant a 35 mile blast there and a 35 mile blast back - in a normal car I would have resented this trip, but the MCS made sure I was a happy pilot all the way.
Although My rear Proxes T1-S's gave me a nasty scare when they broke away under moderate to heavy acceleration on a curving slip road (may have been playing with a red C2 GTI) - road was wet and it just goes to show that the new T1-Rs are much better in these conditions as the the front end stayed planted.
Any way I digress, on Sunday we went out for lunch - had a great meal and then instead of driving home for a kip in front of the blazing fire, we went for a B road blast.
Dryish roads, supercharger whine, awesome grip in the corners, massive pick up, solid brakes - what should have been a 7 mile ride home turned into 40 miles
Be nice to know Rakey what changes have been made, from what I hear then the SC is going, that Personally I think is a real shame I far prefer the SC to a TC even though the TC will probably give more power...someone had to be the Guineapig I suppose with there 03 MCS's so all you lot can have the cream
