I hope they give you some extra goodies to make up for the wait, and on a slight positive note, hopefully the weather will be better next week too

Yes it sucks ...

They better come up with some wonderful free stuff! I think an option discounted would also not be out of order!

But yes as you said on the bright side - hopefully the weather will be better next week and I have sometime leave starting next Friday so I will be able to really get to know my baby!

finally got it last Friday. Stripes are not quite finished, but close! It is so good to finally have it after the wait! The run in period is annoying me already though. I've already strayed over 4500 revs a few times!

Not a great picture as the sun was setting when we picked it up, and I was too excited to stand there and take pictures! I'm sure I'll be taking lots more soon...

Looking very nice!!

As for straying over the RPM.. err.. I hit 6k the other day, completely forgetting what I was meant to be doing! Oooops. It was an honest accident, I got carried away, the engine just pulls and pulls and the quicker its going, the quicker the rpm rises.
Won't be doing it again any time soon, but my word, it was FANTASTIC!
You can almost feel the pent up rage in the engine shifting at 4500 rpm, it wants to go faster!!

To try and keep the revs down I have been playing the 'get the highest mpg I can' game. It does the trick! Still only managed 30.3 on a 50 mile journey though. Better than the 21 I got on the way back from the dealer, and that was sticking to low revs!

We left the dealer thinking our car was pretty individual, and the first other mini we saw had viper stripes. It was red though, so still different enough! Now that we have the mini I see what everyone means about not getting waves or any acknowledgement from other drivers. I was used to flashes and waves when I had an old mini. I have been mostly ignored so far! Classic mini drivers seem to have a good look. 3 kids in another non mini car all waved frantically when they passed me in a queue. That was good...

Only 850 miles so far and the car is filthy!

Still - a run down to Milway on Saturday should see me over the 1250 mile mark so I can find out what the Works intake does....

Stripey - call me biased, but you have great taste in graphics!

Bah.. only got 280 miles on mine so far!!
Keep taking it the long way everywhere but I just don't clock up miles! Maybe one day I'll be able to take it above 4500rpm... (cept for the few times I've fogotten and revved it a tad hard.. hehe!)

Still until then I can amuse myself with going around corners disturbingly fast! The chassis + LSD combo is just fantastic!! And the low end torque.. very impressed. Its a brilliant car. Its the first car I've ever had that feels like a proper performance car. Its got that true Brit Sports-car feel about it (even tho its not exactly all Brit hehe) ! My previous GTI was as quick, but the handling I now realise, really sucked!!
Can't believe how well this corners

Also impressed how good it looks in the works carpark, hehe. Amidst all those boring cars, a Hyper Blue MINI stands out a mile and I'm loving the compliments! CooperS looks fantastic and I reacon they really nailed it with Hyper Blue! Stunning!! MINE!

They delivered my car with white bullet alloys and i wanted white s-spokes they replaced them on monday with some off a used f*****g car!!!! 3 out of 4 wheels were marked and they are white so it really shows. I went back on Tuesday morning and got the manager as they opened the gargage up. They said we'll
put some new wheels on today but they've not been delivered yet so they think they'll be there tomorrow (I bet my ***** they have reconditioned them and the paint aint dry yet though!).

I've got a HB/W MCS Works for the day ...or until they get the right wheels put on.
