Greetings from the Land of Mountains and Cheese

Greetings one and all. Another newbee here, this one living in Switzerland. I just picked up my new 05 MCS on Friday and still can't get over how much of a blast this car is. I took a friend to the local dealership last fall for a test drive (she's loves the Coopers as well) and I liked the car so much that I ended up buying one instead! I had a 98 Boxster before the Cooper and can honestly say that the Cooper is as much fun as the Boxster was (and about a 1/3rd of the service cost!).
Now the real fun will begin in a few months when all the mountain passes open up and I can go out and take on the twisties. I have a group of friends who ride touring bikes and I end up being the support vehicle on weekend rides through the mountains. They take it easy on the rides so I'm sure that this little go cart will be the perfect ride to hang with the bikes.
If anyone needs advise on where to go here in Switzerland feel free to ask, I'm more than willing to offer my opinions on some fantastic runs.

Here are the Specs:

2005 MCS DS/W - White Bonnet stripes
Rally lights - Being installed this week
Premium Pack
Sport Pack
Convience Pack
LSD
Harmon Kardon
Black Leather
S-Spokes - R90's on order from the guy in Italy

There was a warning published in one of the motorcycle magazines here in the USA about sport bike rides trying to keep up with the MCS in really tight twisties. I do not think that you will have any problem keeping up with your friends. The tighter and twistier the better for the MCS.

The warnings were published specifically for a section of road in North Carolina called the "Dragon". Very popular with the sport bike and sport car crowds. Also very un-popular with the insurance companies because of the number of accidents.

Welcome, Alp! It never ceases to amaze me how many new MINI buyers are coming from what are considered to be top-performing sports and GT cars. I am getting ready to sell my much beloved e36 328is that I have driven for the last 8 years. I'll miss it, but I know that the MCS will be something all-together different. Can't wait to see pics and hear of Alpine motoring stories!

Hang up and drive!

One of my previous cars was an M3 and still not as much fun as the MCS .
