Space cloth interior

I am still trying to decide on the interior for my Chili Red Cooper S.

I have always perferred cloth over leather, but I am not sure about the space cloth that is availible for the S?

I've seen the pictures on this site, and I've seen the 4"x4" sample at the MINI dealer, but I would like to know if anyone has actually driven an S with the space cloth interior, and if so what they thought of it?

light (silver) space cloth sucks!

It looks like a dodgy 70's pair of nylon trousers and grips about as well also.

Avoid if you can.

Don't want to cause confusion but I changed from Leatherette to the Space Cloth to add a bit of contrast to the interior - and cloth is more comfortable in the cold or heat. I do wish they offered the Red cloth from the Cooper on the S, but the Space cloth should go nicely with all of the silver/grey/black throughout the car. I'm getting a Red/Black S with a production date of 6/7! Can't wait, and this combo won't be seen as much as the Red/White cars. I have a 20 year old 320i with leatherette and it looks great, but boy is it hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

I also went with the space cloth. I think it looks better than most other cars cloth material, it def. looks better than my Corolla's seats! It looks the carpeting from a doctors office or something(the Corolla that is), with pinkish tiangles and light blue swirly things. Yuck

Space Cloth isn't bad at all. Saw it in the flesh in an EB. It's a middle grey silver and gives a nice contrast to the black surroundings.

I actually quite liked the space cloth, looked much better in the car than on the swatches and pictures.

Oh my... that looks terrible ! Funny enough, I think it looks even worse in person. Leatherette is the way to go, as far as I'm concerned.
