After months of being convinced that Dark Silver with a white roof was the way to go, I started reading about people changing their roof colour to black after seeing the launch day cooper s's.

I finally saw both black and white roof DS cars side by side last night, and I am totally confused as to which looks best. I am hopefully gonna make a final decision on Thursday when I get my test drive.

I am interested as to how many people have have decided to change and what swuung it for you?

I changed my spec from Electric Blue with white roof and wheels to Dark silver with Black roof and silver wheels after seeing them side by side. The dark silver is awsome in the flesh!! Go with the white roof mate then we can look different posing on Ecclesall road mate!! (Only joking....go for what you want.) I have to agree with what Martin said though ages ago that the Electric Blue does not look like it does in the flesh as a lot of the pictures in magazines and on this site etc.

Same here

Was going to be EB/W (from mag pictures)
saw colour samples...changed to DS/white

saw cars...Now DEFINITE...DS/Black

I was originally gonna go for DS/white and then to a trip to Cowley to look at their lovely car park change it.
It was there I saw DS/blk for the first time in the flesh which had me convinced. I know pictures of that combo didn't appear on here to much later then the white but they just convinved me it's the right choice.
And then on Saturday, in the flesh close up...gorgeous.

Oh yeah the main reason for going for the black roof is that I want the mean, moody, bad ass look

....and I want a sunroof

Me too,

I was convinced that the white top looked best. When I saw both the black and white roof Cooper S's there was no competition, it had to be the black roof.

It look so classy and mean at the same time. The white roof and wing mirrors looked kinda odd against the dark silver. It will appeal to some people, but sadly it didn't appeal to me.

I've also ordered a sunroof as well, which is stunning and let's in plenty of sun light. I can't wait to drive the car in the night with the moon and street lights lighting the inside of my car, puka!!!

With the cooper S wheels it looks complete. I'm 100% happy with my choice.

my car was EB/W but if you want DS i think u should go for white top

i think most of the mini looks better with white top

I have also gone from getting a DS/White to DS/Black, but to tell you the truth I am still unsure which looks best. At the end of the day both look great, so it's a win win situation.

I mean check this picture out, DS/White looks awesome.

aarrgghhh!

it hurts my head, I too went from EB to DS/White to DS/Black to DS/white to DS/Black etc....... I do prefer the black at the mo but as LMB just said, they both look cool.

I am sticking with DS/White, I have seen the DS/Black and think that it looks great and it would probably be my choice if I was getting a sunroof.

But, I think that the white roof is required to show of the "floating roof" effect that the designers have created by glazing over all of the pillars on the car. This effect is lost on the black roofed cars.

I am undecided if I should go for stripes with the DS/White. I think the Cooper S stripes (black border) look great from the photos that I have seen but I will wait until I've seen it in person. Any opinions?

First of all it was EB with EB roof, then DS with black roof and now DS with DS roof. Having seen the cars now, EB looks way too light for me, much more of a "baby blue" rather than a really bright in your face blue which was what I was after. DS and white has too much contrast for me and DS + black looks (to me anyway) less classy than DS + DS. Mind you i'll probably change my mind again if I decide to add the sunroof as it's then got to be DS+black.

Decisions, decisions, this is soooo easy...... (not)

It's definately a tricky decision.

I was going to go for DS/White, since I think that the white roof is classic Cooper. But I started to think about going Black and once I saw the real thing I thought it looked great and have now changed my mind.

My dealer said that it was really a choice between being a bit more in your face and obvious with EB or going more subtle and classy with DS. Personaly I'm not looking to go flash, but something classy and cool which I think the DS/Black has in spades.

Having seen some pictures I also think the stripes look great and my dealer said that the car looks fantastic with them so I'm going for it.

well im just off for a test drive, and the dealer has both DS combinations to look at.

I am in a total head scratching position

In answer to the question about stripes - do it!!!

They look superb.

The ones you are refering to with the black edging are the official BMW ones.

The others that appear in pictures are done by graphics / sign companies.
