Runflat vs. Runflat

Last night drove our new DS Cooper S out to dinner. We had only picked up the car a few hours earlier, so it is far from broken in. It has 17" wheels with Pirelli "Euforia" runflats. We also have a CVT Cooper (my wife's car) with about 3,000 miles on it ... well broken in. It has 16" wheels with Goodyear Eagle runflats. Guess what? The ride in the new Cooper S (even with the stiffer suspension) is softer, from a tire standpoint, than the CVT Cooper. It is very obvious. My wife drove her CVT Cooper home from work and we both drove the Cooper S to dinner. Her immediate comment, "the ride seems less harsh than my car!" Could it be the tires? She now wants me to dump the Goodyears and put on the same Pirelli tires on her CVT Cooper. Very strange or what?

Liquid Yellow Cooper CVT -w- white roof & mirrors and sport package, leatherette, xenons and 16" 5-Star alloys (in our hot little hands) and,

Dark Silver Cooper S -w- white roof & mirrors, premium & sport packages and lapis blue/leather (also in our hot little hands).

Well, could be more than few reasons...the 17"s are wider, the profile is lower, and the "S" is heavier. I wouldn't think going to the Pirelli's would neccessarily fix things.
