Change of colour please!

Right, here's another recruit for the Army of Darkness. Finding it yesterday a bit to gloomy, today standing in the sun the DS/black really looked awesome to me. Still think I go for the white roof though.

The good news is that my second halve gave her official approval

The only problem my dealer indicated is that it might be too late to change colour. Anyone knows how long it takes to produce a MCS? Mine is scheduled for delivery in week 32 so that's 7 weeks from now...my feeling is that it should be possible to change Basil, as you are familiair with this problem, could you please tell me what's your feeling about this? The frustrating thing is that my dealer can not give me an answer before monday This is gonna be a long weekend.....really want the DS now.....

QQQ, changing your spec will put the car production date back.

Sure looks like you did M. Should have followed your advise though, would have been a more relaxed weekend for me then

On the other hand, what the hack, in the worst case I will be motoring around in a red Cooper S in August, nothing wrong with that

To be continued.....

I have no idea how long it would put your production date back mate.

If you want to make a change, go for it, you will feel better waiting for the car in the colour that you REALLY want, rather than just getting it sooner. Pressure your dealer to let you change your spec!!

I have been quite lucky in the sense that I have always known that I wanted DS/white, until I went and saw DS/Black, I was thinking about whether to change or not but it was too late as my car is now half built. I saw a DS/White at the dealership and it looked awesome, so I am pleased with my choice.

P.S. My dealer says it takes 2 weeks to make the car (dont know how accurate this is).

My dealer told me you can change your order up
until the car goes "production code 150".
After that it is a done deal.

Good Luck!!

Life is short! Why drive a boring car?!

My dealer said changes were possible at the 11,000 stage (whatever that is), but would cause slippage of the production and delivery dates.

I changed my choice of colour last week - was due to be delivered 10/8, will now be a week or two later.

Only slightly peeved that deposit to delivery will then be almost exactly 12 months, when others have waiting times of under 3 - more so because my final choices match one of the pre-spec cars fairly closely now, so I could have had the car already. But I didn't want to order a colour I'd not seen in the flesh. I have now, and ELECTRIC BLUE IS GORGEOUS! (common as much muck on the roads, but looks darned fine)

Ordered my "S" August '01. Arrived July '02. EB with white roof, wheels and stripes, Chili pack, DSC and climate control. Hate those 17" runflats though.

Can now be seen all over the West Midlands, as a blue blur passing everything at speed

YES!!!!!!!!

Apparently my order didn't have the "production code 150" nor the 11,000 stage, so I can change my colour to DS

Now I need the official green light from the woman at my company who handles and decides about the lease-cars. I already exceeded my budget so she just might resist a bit. Well in case of emergency, and only then, I'm will use my charms for the good cause...

Wooooooooohoooooooooo!!!!

Well done, E !

Isn't a bit a shame she didn't resisted a little, so you could see if your charm wasn't rusty .

I think I'm planning a trip to Waardenburg this afternoon .
It's such nice weather to drive (or is it another reason ).

Cheers,
M

Cheers M, Can't tell you how happy I am about my spec now. Was really a kind of restless about it this weekend

So you're off to your dealer shortly? Gimme a notice when you get back.
