I'm coming back.............

I sold my original MCS a while back; with a daughter on the way I thought I needed the space/convenience of a 4 door.

Anyway, my daughter is 18 months old now and we never use my car; we always take my wife's vehicle, which is, ummmmm, shall we say, adequately sized for a baby, car seat, stroller, etc etc.

So, there's no sense in me having a 4 door; I never use the rear seat. I am ready to unload my current ride and get an '05 MCS.

I can't wait to get it, should be placing my order early next week. I'm still undecided on many options, but picking is so much fun, and there's a lot of new stuff to choose from that was not available the first time around.

Here's my original...........



All I know for sure about #2 so far is that it will have LSD, Xenon, front and rear fogs, cold weather, DSC, Bluetooth and the Ipod adapter. and of course the 6 speed .

Things I'm up in the air about include color scheme, leather, and some of the luxury options. I don't need cruise or climate control, but I would kinda like a sunroof. But, I don't want a sunroof with a white roof, which brings me back to color scheme. Color front runners include JB, CR, and HB. I swore I would never get another black car, but the Cooper looks SO good in black. And if I get JB I would want the Lapis Blue, which means leather. CR or HB I could live with Black Leatherette......with either CR or HB I would go with a white roof, which means no sunroof.....choices choices!

Also, I really like the Web Spokes, so that means Sport Package......

I'm hoping to order on Monday if I can sort this all out .........

I loved my LY, but I'd like something different this time around.

When I got mine (one of the 1st Ss in CT), there obviously were no other Yellows. Now, it seems to be somewhat common. There's a twin to mine in town, plus another at a Saturn dealership right around the corner. There's also a LY/LY S, a LY/W S, and at least 3 LY Coopers.

The JB looks so mean, and might save me from spending $$ on the Aero Kit/Color Coding, but it's so hard to keep clean.................

Hey, Lanny! Glad to hear that you're going to be motoring again!

Speccing is always great fun. For me, I only want things that'll make the car go faster, turn better, and sound good. That means no premium pack, no leather, heck, not even an armrest! I'm coming from a '97 3 Series, and I decided that I don't want any luxury stuff on this car--not that there's anything wrong with back-up sensor! I just want to save my $ for more go-fast goodies. I also went for the JCW suspension, which is VERY sporty without being overly harsh. I recommend it.

As for color, my vote for black might be obvious, but, now that it's stopped rainging in sunny CA, it's actually pretty easy to keep clean. And yes, you're right! Black MINIs look So COOL!

get a convertible, easy access to the back seats, if you should need them, and you would then not incurr a huge loss of value when the new tintop comes out next year, as the cab is due later on

Your JB is looking great! It's gonna be hard to resist, but with an 18 month old running around at home, I don't have the time I used to have to spend cleaning, and small as it is, the MINI seems to attract an inordinate amount of dirt, and a JB around here with winter, and then spring pollen, would be brutal.

I've been thinking also about skipping all luxury accessories, and instead getting nothing but LSD, and Xenons, and putting the $$ into performance upgrades. Concerned about resale value though, in case '07s do something for me.
