2 Week Delay on S

When I called in to see my dealer yesterday to get my current car valued I discovered there has been a 2 week delay to my delivery date. Apparently there has been some talk of a shortage of Xenons because of the number of Chilli packs ordered exceeding what was expected (didn't the same thing happen with a shortage of wheels for early Coopers when the Chilli pack was more popular than was expected ?)
I'm still down as a June build but I'm stuck at "Scheduled for Production".

Anyone else had this problem (I've not changed my spec since I agreed it a few month ago so it can't be down to that.

BigC my S was due on the 27th July, but I have now been given an est. delivery date of 10th August. I did change my spec yesterday, but it seems a bit of a coincidence that you delivery date has been put back also. It could be due to some shortage.

Sorry for your delay / disappointment but does this mean my non Chilli spec "S" may arrive a few weeks earlier

2 weeks is nothing! My S has been delayed by 6 weeks due to (inter alia) Xenons. Other probs were BRG, rain sensor and HK. Delivery now scheduled for early October

I've been waiting so long I don't mind anymore....

Flippin Vultures If you don't have Xenons then you never know... Might be worth calling your dealer and asking them to check for you as they aren't going to stop all production.

Another comment my dealer made was that their demo/showroom cars don't have Xenons and they didn't know until they arrived so if there are other Countries where the S has yet to be launched, maybe they will plug the gaps in the build schedule with Dealer Demos

Hmmm. Doesn't really surprise me.

For months the factory producing the xenons were behind on schedule, first with problems affecting all lamps, and more recently with getting a US-spec lamp into production. In addition, the factory was set up to have enough capacity to meet - not exceed - BMWs sales' projections. The MINI has been far more successful than they anticipated, and demand for a number of components exceeds supply as a result.

Same thing happens in the Netherlands, due to lack of xenons, cause almost everybody orders with the chili package.
BRG, Indi Blue and Black are ready for ordering and built from september on. Same for the visibility package.
H/K system is put back to week 50!

My Dealer phoned today to say my S will arrive on 2nd of July. It was meant to arrive today!

Looks like I'm getting LMB's car - I had been told delivery around 10/8, now being told around 22/7

Oh, and that's with xenons btw.

hmmm... wonder if this is gonna affect my car? It is supposed to be arriving at the dealers next week,has a chassis number etc..

Does anyone know if this is affecting cars that are being built at the moment, or just those scheduled for prod..? I wouldnt have thought they would start building a car unless they had all the necessary parts to complete it?

The same story I am afraid my car was due to be delivered to the dealers, Altwood yesterday (18th June) their computer is now saying 27th June.

Called my dealer yesterday and mine is due to them on 5th July. It's status apparently is confirmed by production control.
Does anyone have a list of production statuses?

Finally got hold of my dealer today after leaving many messages. You guy's had got me worried over the delay and I wanted to confirm my July 9 delivery-to-dealer date.

Told me they'd already recieved it.... Its in their lock-up but they don't know when it arrived

So I get it (DS with black roof; sunroof; chilli pack with panther black 1/2 leather; CD) next Wednesday.

... Now I'm getting excited.
