Pure or Dark Silver? - Time to Order my 'S'

I'm #3 on my local dealer's Mini order list so they'll take my order whenever I'm ready. I'm torn between pure silver and dark silver... pretty sure I want the black roof (since I'll have a sunroof, I don't like how the roof sticks out on white).

Any opinions/pictures on this matter? Especially dark silver owners... I'm curious what you think of the color after owning it for a while and likely seeing other pure silvers driving about.

Here's my analysis thus far:
Pure Silver catches the eye better and blends well with the chrome in the front of the car.
Dark Silver is exclusive to the 'S', seems to match better with the black trim along the wheel-wells and bottom edge of the car, and it seems to be generally rare - even on Mini2. Up close, the dark silver seems to have more "depth" to the metalic paint.

I'll be ordering an 'S' with Premium, Sport, and Cold packages plus the HK stereo upgd and auto mirrors/wipers.

Any consultation appreciated.

Here's the best picture I've seen so far of an PS S. This was posted recently by QQQ. There are many others around, but not like this one. Opinions are split, but I like it. Obviously it has after market wheels and the front bumper and black grille from the aero kit.

Oh, and congratulations on your first post by the way. If you use the search engine you will find literally hundreds of photo's of the dark silver and PS Cooper S.

My choice of DS and white spans the pro's and con's of PS/black and DS/black. It is both eye catching, exclusive to the S, and has a certain "gravity" to it. I only partially agree about the sun roof. After all "if you've got it, flaunt it!"

Deciding on the colour of an S is a very tough question and I guarantuee you many of us have allready gone or will at one point go through this To make it a bit easier for you, here is another nice pic of a PS/b with aftermarket rims

I think the DS/black combo gives the S a look of class, but I like the sportier look of Indie Blue/white. Someone on these forums had a picture of his freshly washed Indie/white MINI on the streets of San Fransisco I believe. Looked great!

We went to the dealer with RGB in mind, although I know there's a delay with that color.

There were several regular silver / black cars on the lot that looked OK and we were considering that color. At that point the S that had been out for a test drive drove back onto the lot and we were immediately taken with it.

To be honest I was surprised that I found it attractive, but the DS / black combo gives the S a more agressive look which appealed to us. Parking the the silver / black and the dark silver / black side-by-side made the decision easy (at least for us).

Seeing them side by side at the dealer I think silver matches the rest of the car great (silver 17s,etc.) while DS has more contrasts...guess thats way I'm getting all black!
