Who has received a non pre-specced S (UK) and was it delivered on time?

Who has received an S in the UK that they specced to their own requirements?

And was it delivered on the day the dealer quoted? Did you have to wait? was your delivery date put back or brought forwards?

LMB, no mine hasnt been put back, I phoned the dealer to get him to make sure that it is going to arrive tomorrow, so I can go and perve at it in my lunch hour, but he is with customers and I am waiting patiently for him to call back.

Just getting worried as I have booked next week off work to break her in!

Just called my dealer. My non pre spec is built (Hooray!!) Unfortunatelty delivery to him has gone out to the 8th July (Boo!!!)
Allowing for thre PDI etc I shall be lucky to seeit until 13th July. Just got to hope it gets to Thorne quickly and thy can call it off early.....

I am all exited and frustrated at the same time!!!

I have just been phoned by my dealer, have now got my registration and they're asking me to insure it from 28/06/02 so they can tax it. My dealer did some digging around to find out if it was definately going to be with them tomorrow, and it is so I can go and have a look tomorrow lunch time.

Incidentally, does anyone know if the number plates get allocated at Thorne?

I saw a couple yesterday on the M1 and M18 on the back of transporters going to/leaving Doncaster. Livened up my boring trip to the NEC to see computer stuff

Your dealer gets the registration number from the local DVLA office - if you ask in advance and if you're lucky, the dealer should be able to give you a choice of three, though you'll probably have to give an answer there and then. The number plate will then be made up at your dealer - it should contain a MINI logo and your dealers MINI web address.

These could have been pre-registered dealer/customer owned cars sent from dealers to use the specialist facilities available at Thorne e.g. the KDS wheel alignment machine. Dealers without a KDS machine usually send the cars up there. Could be any number of reasons really.

I ordered mine at the beginning of may 2002, delivery has just been confirmed for 14th July 2002, ( I got a speccable slot as the previous incumbent decided to wait for HK sound, I was initially expecting delivery for august but last week my dealer said it would be with them a bit quicker!!

Guess I'm just lucky.

Mine arrived at my dealers yesterday so am going to pick up tomorrow one week later than the original firm delivery date. I am happy with that as I was 15th on their list and originally expecting September delivery, but because I specced my car prior to launch day whilst others prefered to wait I got a higher slot on the list.

My car is Red/White Chilli pack with black/black half leather, if anyone is still interested I can post some pics of the interior.
