I think the Cooper does sub 9 seconds stock (mine definatley did even though BMW stated 9.1). However, even with a chip etc I don't see the Cooper achieving sub 8 seconds...if it does its minutely but I'm not at all convinced as to the true tuning enhancment offered by most if not all the induction kits for the Cooper and ONE and many exhaust do nothing for the car either.

Who knows though its been ages since I drove a cooper or seriously looked into the tuning of one so mayhaps stuff has got better.

Those spotlights are nice, what make are they?

how do you time 0-60s, i never want to totally redline it, and i never wack me foot down to the floor straight away as i dont want to wreck me clutch.
the optimum torque isnt at redline anyway is it, shouldnt you shift before it, i havent a clue

they are kc hilites. there for off road use only . as for shifting, i usually take it pretty close to the redline. thats just my nature though.

Shifting at redline is fine... it's not wise to do it every time you drive but it doesn't harm the car once in a while
