How do I Know if MC has Chilli Pack

I have just bought an '02 MC from a used car dealer. He stated that the Mini had the chilli pack. But how can I tell? The car doesn't have an alarm, no remote key, no trip computer, but does have 16" alloys, part leather seats. The registration documents don't mention anything about it being a Chilli.

The reason I ask is that my insurance premium went up from £510 to £570 when I told them it was the MC Chilli.

Any help appreciated.

The car should have two keys one with a remote and one without. If it doesn't have a remote key it is missing (and whoever has it has full access to your car). There should also be a plastic emergency key although these are usually lost on second hand cars in my experience.

Chili pack includes: 16" Alloy Wheels, Chrome Line Exterior, Cloth / Leather Upholstery, Front Foglights, Height-adjustable Passenger Seat, Leather steering Wheel, Rear Spoiler, Sports Suspension PLUS, Storage nets behind seats.

As far as I can remember the on board computer wasn't in the Chili pack until later. Sure I paid the extra £100 for mine in 2001. Not 100% on SS+ either but the others are definite.

best thing to do is call in at bmw and ask them to call your car up on their database and they will tell you

Thanks for the replies - it looks like it is a Chilli then - it has everything you have mentioned (including storage nets!) and I'm assuming it has sports suspension as it is quite a bumpy ride!

Anyone know how much a new remote key would cost?

Computer came with the Chili Pack from the middle-ish of September 2003.
