a bit of a remap, new exhaust, and new air filter, and a badge

it does as it says on the tin, it adds sound to the car

Mr Rakey is technically right but it actually adds so much more. Although JCW don't claim any bhp gains (this is handy when it comes to insurance) the kit transformed my 03 Cooper. Have also had it fitted to the new Cooper I picked up last night. The exhaust is a full stainless steel item and burbles quite nicely. The filter is a complete new air box with sound pipe that comes to the back of the bulk head. When the revs hit 4500 a flap in the air box opens sending the sound down the pipe and 'into the car', sounds great. The remap transforms the drivability of the car, improving throttle response and doing away with flat spots. The badges and engine cover are just a bit of nice bling. Best of all retains MINI warranty. At special offer price from Derek Woodmans, see group buys forum it's a bargain. That said if your car has no warranty all of the above can be done cheaper, thousands of threads on here about that. If your interested in the sound kit read the register thread.

It just adds sound says Rakey . Typical attitude coming from someone with an S works .

i beat several JCW Tuned Coopers on a rolling road.. they forked out over £700 for their kits and i spent under £400

you are paying for the name badges more than anything...

Not the point at all Sam.

Some of us have brand new or nearly new Coopers & rely on them day in, day out for commuting, work, etc. (i.e they are not weekend cars). The JCW kit means full warranty support and no quibbles over TLC. It never has been about the power with this kit & everyone who chooses one knows this.

Woodmans is actually about 600 inc p&p for parts only. Takes about 1.5 hrs to fit but you will need a dealer to do the remap bit I'm afraid.

Spent 620 on mine and my warranty is in tact and my car transformed. Don't take this the wrong way Sam but why was your car, as stunning as it is, featured in modern mini a few months ago . Big bhp figures are fine but the none S models have some parts that don't like them very much.

i used to be all for aftermarket stuff but im now going the jcw route with my car (all ready 130 bhp stock on the rollers) so i feel a jcw would be the best addition and thw works suspesion and why becuse even thow my car is outta warrnty it means that very little should go wronh with these parts and if it dose it minis fault

its all change for the S, to be revealed soon

porbs due to the fact that your car is like mine and an early model so they were built a bit faster until 03 i think and considering my cooper made 130 bhp on the rollers unmodded i would take the results with a pinch of salt

so the general concensus is that the JCW kit is around 600/700 pounds?

That's about right although it does seem to be getting cheaper, some have claimed to have had it fitted for less than 600.

I had mine installed for $1,100 USD, so it seems about the same on both sides of the pond. Well worth it in my opinion.
