| If you get 15" wheels on the Cooper you can get a spare but you must order one to get it. You can't retrofit one afterward as they neglect to install the interior handle used to unlock the spare on the bottom of the car. If you order 15" wheels, which aren't runflats, and you don't get the spare then you get a MINI Mobility Kit instead which is a compressor and a can of tire sealant. Some early Coopers with runflats got the spare too, by mistake I'm told. Right now ordering the spare with the runflats is not possible unless you get a car with 15" wheels and then buy separate 16" wheels. The Cooper fits the spare just fine, regardless of the wheels chosen. The S does not fit them as they had to put the battery back there and they chose to use a central exhaust pipe. | Interesting as I was once informed by someone that 16s and over are too big to fit in the space for carry spare wheel under the car ![]() In UK, I do not know of any cars with 16s or over to carry a spare. As for ordering the spare tyre when you spec your car, I have no experience of that as I ordered 17s. DK |

| That begs the question, is the MINI safe to drive with three 16" wheels plus a 15" space-saver? Or is there a good reason why they don't let you take that option? I know some other cars have small donut spares which supposedly work OK but now I wonder if it is OK with the MINI. Will probably drive the tire pressure sensor bonkers, perhaps the traction control too (might need to turn it off). This would be a good question for, dat da da DAH, MINIGUY! | No. You have to drive carefully and not over 49 mph with the emergency wheel. You have to change as quick as possible to the normal wheels ( MINI user manual ) ONE Chili Red, Chrome-Grille, 16" 5-Star Wheels, fogs, Rear Spoiler, AirCondition, Sport Seats, Alu Patina Dash with Chrome rings |
