Unhappy Think my exhaust it blowing!

Hey everyone,

I think my exhaust is blowing, if I just rev the engine, when I take my foot off the gas I get a kinda popping sound, guessing this is a hole developing? He's done nearly 45k on a 51 plate. Is this a bit early for it to be going? I'm also assuming it's a BMW job, anywhere else I can go, and how much am I expecting to pay?!

Thanks in advance,

James.

Ooh, and also, if I leave it (bit skint this month) I know it'll get louder, but any other reason I need to get it done straight away, could do without it for a wee while, thanks!

Cooper S's pop on the over run as part of the design, maybe Coopers are the same. I've never driven a cooper for an extended period so I can't say if this is normal behaviour or not.

I'd say 45k was a bit early for an exhaust to go, and a hole would just sound boomy rather than poppy.

Cool, maybe I just sound like an MCS then?!

There's definately a different sound now, and more popping is occuring! Also seems to be a bit strange pulling away in first, a bit sluggish, but that could be my driving as I've noticed this in the past!

I was kinda taking the revs up to about 2-2.5k earlier, took my foot off and it stalled, bit worried now actually, any ideas anyone?

Sounds like a good reason to get a nice aftermarket exhaust

well this happened to mine (well slightly) so i got it changed as mine began to get worse as i went on (BMW advised that i change it.... but then they would ) and my car has less mileage and is younger so id say ur exhaust has lasted quite a while.

when i got mine changed i went for the full jcw though.... would recommend it!!!!
