Aftermarket exhaust on 2001 cooper

Read in certain thread on here that the exhaust brackets changed from 2002 (point a different direction) does this mean that any exhaust i buy wont fit my car?

No just let the company your buying the exhaust from know what year your cooper is and they should provide you with the correct exhaust.

Possibly but it's easy just go to a mini dealerand get a new one, i think the new brackets about 30 notes plus your old one will prob be quiet rusty by now so a replacement wouldn't be a bad idea.

Its good to hear they they still sell both sorts. If i was to get an aftermarket exhaust some use hangers welded straight onto the exhaust not a strap design like mini.

So im guessing that the mounts on the car cant be swapped to the later type (just i know of an aftermarket exhaust for sell but that has the later mounts on it?

Yeah My mate had to do it with his mcs as he had the earlier style hangers they're basically the same but at a different angle. If you ring derekwoodmans the site sponsour one of there guys will give you the exact details and they generally give a good price as well

Just to confirm then i can change the body>exhaust mounts and fit a later style exhaust, the mounting holes on the body arent different its just the mounts that go into the holes that the exhaust hangers slot into?
