I have to give credit to Mini USA. They did answer my e-mail but provided no insight into the gear box durability question. So now I've confirmed how our pool of politicians is created. From the auto industry. I guess you can't expect them to admit there is a problem. You would think if the failure issue is being blown out of proportion they would back up their quality with data.

Kinda figured you wouldn't get any info from them. This is standard big industry.
