United-Kingdom Engine Warning Light

My Wife noticed the engine warning light on today - no other lights are on and the car feels like it's running fine. It's a '54 Cooper with 19k miles.

Flicked through a few posts and is it worth me disconnecting the battery and hoping it resets? It's booked in at the dealer on Tuesday but in the meantime wondered if there were any 'quick wins' to try.

Is there any reason this wouldn't be covered under warranty - I've not always had brilliant dealership experiences?

Thanks in advance!

JD

My wife and I have experienced this recently while touring in mountain country and was quite concerned until my wife noted the problem. It simply is the emergency lever being up a fraction of an inch, push it down and the light goes out.

Cheers for the advice - unsure what it was but the car has miraculously self-healed - Just needs to learn to put in it's own petrol now and we're onto a winner!
