3 kids in the back of our mini?

Just got my first mini cooper, great car, problem is we have 3 children! aged 5,7 and 8, is there any way that you can get 3 kids in the back legally, ive heard something about a rear bench which fits 3 but havnt seen a picture of it? There is no issue about leg room in the back as the front two have short legs, its just the width issue?
The missus has a 5 seater saloon car but she drives too fast and im a bad back seat driver!, so would like to get the 5 of us in my mini if possible!

Pretty sure the 3 seat rear bench has only ever been offered in the Clubman, and now the Countryman. I've never seen a 3 seat configuration in the back of the hatch?

Absolutely. The back of the standard hatch is simply too narrow to fit three and there is no factory modification to do it. The Clubman does have the option for three seats, though it's not designed to fit three adults, or three children for that matter (three child seats aren't going to fit).
