Xenon like headlights for 53' Cooper

One of my halogen headlights has recently blown, and instead of replacing it I was wondering if there were any UK legal bulbs out that give the look of xenon headlights (brighter and whiter).

I would much rather use these bulbs to make my headlights brighter than they are currently with the stock bulbs.

If anyone knows of bulbs that are described or ones that are recommended, please let me know

There are a number of options you can look at. If you're specifically looking at an upgrade halogen bulb which will deliver a xenon HID (high intensity discharge) effect then we would recommend a product like Philips Blue Vision Ultra or OSRAM Cool Blue Intense.

These bulbs have a slight blue coating on the lamp which delivers a crisp white light on the road with a subtle styled blue tint to oncoming traffic. They're fully road legal within the EU.

Furthermore, Philips and OSRAM are both Original Equipment quality. MINI will install either Philips or OSRAM standard lamps in all their new cars - this is the same build quality but with the added advantage of more light and a styled light.

According to our records your vehicle uses a H7 fitting for the dipped and high beam.
