Question Best Mod for stock Cooper 2002??

I have just bought a Mini Cooper 2002 in full stock condition, just wondering what you guys think are the best, cheapest and easiest mods to do to get me started. The mini is black with black roof and silver wheels.

Some of the things that have been suggested already are.......

Changing all the bulbs to Xenon & LED
Adding stereo controls to two spoke steering wheel
Stickers!

Would welcome any and all of your suggestions

Don't mess with the headlight bulbs, but changing the sidelight bulbs to LED and the indicators to silver bulbs (not orange) looks cleaner. Also, clear sidelights if you've got orange ones currently.

What wheels are on it?

It was suggested to change to the whiter xenon bulbs, rather than the standard halogen ones.
Definitely gonna change to silver indicators.
Its currently just on the stock silver 5 spoke wheels

New wheels, the car will feel more 'nimble' with some lightweight rims...& look better too

Change the runflat tyres (if you've got them), the ride will be better.

Don't forget to check with your insurance company 1st though

Was thinking about new wheels, Mini is all black & Im about to put some gunmetal grey stripes on it, so was thinking about dark grey wheels. Ive just bought the car and all the tyres are brand new, although they are runflats, have only got about £300 for wheels so would want to get something that the existing tyres can swap onto, what are the dimensions of the stock 5spokes? Can anyone suggest decent wheels?

Nobody has mentioned changing the air filter get a K&N panel filter and some decent new plugs NGK iridium work well in mine. Also if you want it to handle better new suspension bushes superflex or powerflex and a strut brace improve things no end, they will give you more for your money than new wheels if you like driving.

I fully agree. Are you also looking for performance upgrades or just esthetics?

Performance upgrade wise, for an easy install i suggest a Sprint Booster, it's not too much work and you really notice the difference. An alta cold air intake, takes about 30 min tops to fit, and (for this one you need to take it to the shop unless you're a really good mechanic) a 15% or 17% pulley reduction on the supercharger. The part itself doesn't cost a fortune but you'll definitely appreciate the extra kick.

Cheers

What kind of gains did you get putting the K&N filter on?

Has anyone got any suggestions to improve a standard Coopers MPG, I was expecting it to be quite as thirsty as it is

Cheers
