Still unsolved - Rubbing noise

My 2003 MC has a rubbing noise in the front right (drivers side) wheel well that I can't pin point. SO aggravating. It's not a metal noise or grinding noise or thumping noise...just a low rubbing noise like rubber rubbing against something that sounds like "whoop, whoop, whoop". I can only really hear it when I drive under 30ish MPH. I've changed the brake pads and checked the parts associated with wheel, wheel bearings and what not. So perplexed on what it could be.

Well, since I've had no replies, I will update everyone on my problem. I found out the other day that I need to replace the cv axle on the drivers side (I replace the passenger side one a couple weeks ago. I am hoping that the noise might be coming from the shaft or that when I pull the axle out of the wheel I can find the source.

Wish me luck!

Check your engine mounts if the noise doesn't go away after the new axle. The rubber will go and they'll transmit the normal driveline vibration and noise. They switched from a rubber damper on the driver's side of the engine to a hydraulic one in '03 and that often loses its fluid to cause more noise and vibration too. Mine's a 10/02 build with new CVs and I'm changing the mounts to make it stop sounding/feeling like a truck.

I am happy to report that my MINI is fixed! No more sound coming out of the wheel well on the passenger side when I replaced the CV axle. I can only assume that the boot on the broken shaft was rubbing up against the tire or a piece of the suspension. I am totally relieved. I also replaced both sway bar end links which helped the handling a ton. --->This girl is a happy girl now!<--- Thank you for all your help!
