Heavy clutch

I have a 56 plate cooper park lane with 14k on the clock. it's the first mini I have had and I love it but I do find the clutch is heavy. It works fine bit point is ok, no slipping it is just heavy on the leg particularly around town. is this the same on all generation 1 coopers?

much the same problem on my 06 cooper works with 40k miles which i have just bought.
ive posted a thread on first generation forum today.

Mini seem to have a heavy clutch in general. My 1 certainly has it. Much heavier than BMW's i have.
