Gearbox ID Help

Greetings!

I have an '04 Cooper with a very broken gearbox but have few clues as to which flavour it actually is (Midland or Getrag).

All I have is a link to a photo and this quote from a BMW mechanic: 'It's not the one with the removable end-plate'.

Any help in identifying this would be gratefully received.

The Getrag gearbox wasn't introduced until July 2004 builds.

Yeah, I've already tried the VIN decoder but this confusingly gives two manual transmission options. The car has also had a completely new engine and I'm unsure if the gearbox has changed too.
