Turning out airbag light?

I've posted before about changing the exploded airbag in the passenger seat. Thing is it's taking an age for my car to be finished, not my OH's fault because he's mega busy right now and just decided he's changing the quarter panel...

My brother reckons there's a way to turn the airbag light off so I don't have to change the airbag. Does anyone know how to do this please. I've got the upholsterer ready to stitch the panel back in place and I'm pretty desperate to hurry things up.

Thanks.

I'd be careful as you can run into insurance problems if you drive without an airbag , give an insurance company an excuse and they will try not to pay,

For aftermarket seats and the JCW seats without airbags they just put a 4 ohm resistor from Maplins in the airbag connector under the seat which fools the srs system into thinging their is a working seat airbag installed.
Details Here:

Mab, thanks for the link. It must be what my brother was trying to explain to me but I didn't have a clue what he was talking about still don't but it's his job to fix it not mine .

Matt, I'll probably take this risk I just want my car as soon as.

Im not sure putting resistors in the fool the system is really the right thing to do, if the item supposed to be there and working, you could put resistors in to fool everything on the car to pass an MOT say, but in theory its cheating and car shouldnt be like that, if you crashed it and wrote it off and the insurers found out, and if it resulted in a death they will go thorough it with a fine toothcomb, would you be risking then if they didnt pay anything out? and you had to pay out yourself?
