hi. when hitting 50mph in my partners 2001 mini cooper you get a vibration through what seems the pedals, gearstick and steering. i have had tracking done and wheel balancing. its only present at 50mph onwards when accelerating, goes as soon as you lift off the throttle. has any one experienced this before?
thanks
If you are convinced you have the tyres and tracking are spot on then you may want to check the engine mounts, but I would expect vibration to show more across the rev range if they were worn.
I have this is mine, but it feels like the whole car shakes, I asked the garage and they said it was the drive shaft but I have been told by other people it wouldn't cause the car to do that... I was just seeing if anyone else may know what it may be?!
i have today ordered a new o/s/f driveshaft, going to try this one 1st as it has a bearing inline. if the problem remains, i shall order a n/s/f shaft and try that. fingers crossed as its really annoying
Update:- i fitted a new o/s driveshaft and its now perfect. Cannot beleive the difference
