England New Cooper

I am due to pick up silver /black cooper with silver/ black union jack on March 1st and I am wondering what are the common faults on this model to look out for ? I am not too worried but it would be nice to know what to look out for. Plus how good are most dealers at dealing with these common problems. I have brought the car from Sytners in Leicester UK is there any word on their reputation.
Cheers

freedee, I bought my Cooper from Sytner Leicester and the Sales Team are great, but I have had trouble with the Service Dept. It took them 3 times to correctly fit my brocken windscreen, then during that they bent one of my spot lamps....also I have just got my Cooper back after almost 4 weeks in their service dept after an accident and there are a few scratches on the bonnet and bumper that weren't there in the accident. Also if you have a service and they ask if you want the car washing always say yes but insist on hand wash only - if you don't they will put it thru' the car wash...not good.

Anyway enjoy your new car and I may see ya bombin' around the lanes of Leicestershire

Welcome to MINI2 freedee, I got my cooper from Sytner, sales team great, my mini has no faults at all. Who did you deal with a Sytners? if you mention my name (Graham with the yellow cooper who keeps it spotless) they will know who you mean

Thumbs up

Dealt with Julia Brewster who has been very good. Its nice to see that there are a few MINI2 people driving around the lanes of sunny Leicestershire I live out Mountsorrel way so if you see a silver/black cooper with silver/ black union jack it will be yours truly so give me the appropriate sign!

Late MINIs seem very good. Would be pointless to list all the old problems they've since dealt with at the factory. Even so, my Feb 02 built MINI Cooper had just three problems, hatch rattle, interior trim fix and the gearbox linkage recall, so even 'old' ones were quite good IMO. The latter two problems were fixed properly by the dealer, though they both required two visits to get right. Enjoy your Cooper when it comes!

I think the hatch rattles may still be around in new builds. I fixed my own by adjusting the bumpers and putting a bit of electrical tape on the D ring (wouldn't be a British car without some electrical tape apologies to Brits, of course, all in good fun).
