Hi. I'm new to this forum and looking for help. My rear wiper arm on my 55 plate Mini Cooper has broken off. I ordered a new one online but it doesn't fit. The one I ordered has a brass ring that is too small to go over the nut that seems to be on the stumpy stem on my car. They all look to be like this. Can anyone help? Tia
When you remove the plastic bit where the water squirts out of there is a 13mm nut. This needs to be undone so that the assemble can be removed then its just a matter of sliding the replacement one on. You may need to use a bit of force to get the old part off so be careful as not to damage the motor spindle. A small 3 legged puller will help if you have one
It sounds like you've bought the pre facelift wiper arm which is suited to the Trico motor and yours is the later Valeo motor. The instant verification is the schoosher jet
Your'e wiper arm hasn't half fell apart! You will need to try and get the silver bit off as that's the remains of your old arm. If you cut it gently with a hacksaw it should weaken it enough to force it free without putting too much stress on the spindle
Thanks for your reply Sean. This is the bit that was throwing us as we didn't know if it should be there or not. Will attack it with a hacksaw tomorrow. We tried vice grips yesterday but it wasn't for budging
