ib/b (markw19)

I don't know what i don't think was right. it looked nice but it didn't have that impact. agreed the chrome looks and i most definitely like it but to me that colour scheme seemed to date it somewhat. it was on 17's.

it was inside the showroom so maybe that was the lights.

i liked it as i said don't get me wrong but it just didn't hit me. ill probably get it anyway as i agree with your comments on silver. may still get ib/w.

saw some alloy patina and for £30 if it is that little it is worth every penny. anthercite is on basic ones so i can make my inside look like a cooper s instead of one for £30. texture and graining affetc look wierd. i take it this material doesn't scratch as much.

The silver seems to be the one that scratches - anthracite/alloy patina don't really seem to scratch much, from what I understand.

I love the patina now, didn't used to, but it's grown on me

I love the shade of the indi blue - not too dark, not too light, and the metallic really shines and glistens in the sun.

I didn't want a white roof 'cos I'm not into them, and I didn't want all-blue as that's a bit boring and a bit one-ish (after all, contrast roof's are what minis are all about ) so the other option was the black.

I do like it, and it's my favourite colour combo (hence the reason I picked it ). The chrome really sets the darkish colours off, and the 17" s-spokes do lift the car quite a bit. I don't think it's dated at all - the MINI is arguably the most stylishly up-to-date car around at the moment, the colour can't change that. Or rather, the ROOF colour can't change that

Plus, IB/B is very rare, IMHO there isn't a dated or "boring" colour combo on the MINI - even if there was, the styling of the car itself would override it

What does anyone else think - IB/B a no-no?

And, I think the only colours that "hit" you are yellow, red, electric blue, and maybe pure silver? ie., the bright colours that stand out.

The others are more subdued, perhaps a bit more "classy". The MINI as a car hits you, the colour is just secondary to me
