***Calling All 2003 coopers***

When opening/closing the mini with remote, i've heard that pre 2003 cars have lights that flash to indicate that a signal has been recieved.

Ive read somehwhere on the forums that 2003 build minis dont flash their lights!!

Is this true, hope not! Please will everyone specify whether there mini flashes or not!!

Mainly minis delivered in the past couple/few months!

My Feb 2003 build Cooper's indicator lights flash when I lock the car by remote. Can't see any reason why they'd alter this.

I read somewhere that it was a security thing, so that when you open the car, if a someone sees lights flash they could jump in and drive off with car! Dont know how true this is.

Feb. 03 Lock, Lights On-Unlock, No Lights.
I like the fact that it does not beep and anounce to all around you that you are arriving or going.

whats the point of it not flashing the interior lights come on so at night it is even more obvious mines is'nt to bad with the tints but arrgh

May 03 build - as above, flash only on locking but like Kev'sCoop states - the interior light still comes on when unlocking!

March 03, same as above, + you can program the interior lights to NOT come on by pressing and holding the on/off button (see owner's manual)

First Week 03 build (end of Aug start of Sep). When locking the car the lights flash once per each click of the button. When unlocking the car the interior lights come on for a little while. If I do not get into the car they will go out after about a minute but I have never timed this action. I think it may be the same timer as when you get out of the car with out locking the car. Hope this helps.
