wife's new car

so after pondering for months, wife decided to not buy out her 323ci in November and get a new mini cooper...(pepper white...no dealer issue about choosing this one )

wish the wife would take the 5 speed but it's a commuter car so CVT but I still cannot complain. it handles as described in all the press and on this board.

if you're wondering, I drive a VW 1.8T Jetta....tuned and modified...but it doesn't even approach the stock handling of the cooper. Only thing I've got ont he mini is speed.

specs:
- CVT cooper
- pepper white..with black top...style patrol...salesman INSISTED don't get the white top...hahahaha...not that we were going to
- leatherette
- sports package
- heated seats (it's cold up here in the winter)
- sunroof

Welcome to the board!

So the new Cooper will be your wife's car. We were in the same position. Our new MCS is a replacment for my wife's trusty Protege. The Protege was "her" car. I'm trying hard to convince her that the new Mini is "our" car. Actually she's pretty good about sharing it with me. Hopefully you'll have the same good fortune.

Did you order yours or buy from dealer stock? If you had to order yours this board is a good place to come during the long waiting process.

Thanks guys....yep...it's a custom ordered vehicle...given that we added so many options been trying to convince her to take an '03 in stock (cooper S) vs. ordering the CVT. About the same money...or as I was trying to convince her...I'd chip in the difference .

She's actually getting decent driving manual in my Jetta. She knows she'll eventually HAVE to learn to drive manual. so she's agreed that if she gets the CVT we'll swap cars once or twice a week. ..Not that my Jetta is "chopped liver" 190whp and 220lb/feet torque isn't that bad... She loves the rush of the turbo.
