What should the material be on the gaiter around the gearstick, and handbrake. Mine seems to be dark grey plastic ? I was considering a change did a search and there are some references to other people asking the same question but no clear answer.

I have a Cooper with Chilli pack.

Whats in yours ?

Sounds about right. I got the MINI leather optional bits on my S. Much nicer.

Oh well I'll have to go shopping again.

The leather is best I feel might see if I can get a quality red suede/ leather.

Good question wrenny - your post caught my attention and now, since I only just placed my order yesterday, I'm starting to wonder whether I should spring for the leather gaiter...

I see it's available as an accessory from MINI directly.

I would think Newton Commercial (see sponsor directory) should be able to make one in suede. I have the MINI leather handbrake and gear gaiters. Nice.

Just for the record and if anyone searches on leather gaiters, I have decided to buy my gaiter from the dealer it is black and not red though I don't really mind, and is leather not suede.

So will be picking it up next week.

price £ 15.66 plus VAT, not bad me thinks.

Will probably get the handbrake one to match if I like the leather one and it fits well.

The gaiter avilable from BMW/MINI turns out to be plastic !!!!

Maybe I'll look at the sponsor lists again.

Someone has got it wrong there, you can order a leather gaiter and handbrake from MINI/BMW, mine are from BMW and are leather. I can get part No's probably if you like?

That would be handy as my dealer says that replacements for Cooper or S are both plastic. I know you have the leather so yeah, please supply part ID's.

Looks like it might be Lapis blue only from MINI, or at least that's the only one I can find. I got: 25 11 0 140 486 as the part number. I couldn't find a black version though.
