OK, I was just joking about running Windows on the OBC. The screen is like 80 pixels wide by 20 pixels tall, one color. It would be hilarious to see though....

I had a feeling that Windows thing was a joke. I still don't have my car yet to look at the OBC real close, but I wouldn't put it past MINI to allow for something cool like that. I would just like to know where you'd put the mouse!

I don't have the on board computer but now wish that I'd had it when I ordered the car! How easy are they to install? Does anyone know how much it costs to have it installed?

But can anyone answer that question?

I shall answer the question for you. New models with the instantanious speed display in the OBC - have the BC2 control unit. Older Cars (pre Sept 03build) have the BC1 unit which wont allow this fucntion on the OBC.

So if your car is pre sept 03 - you will need to upgrade from BC1 to BC2 - which i believe is a costly affair

I have the OBC on my 05 Cooper - personally I've only had the car a week and I wouldn't be without it. I didn't have it on my ONE - just staring at the temp all the time was a bit boring
