Hello from newbie

Well I've finally decided to opt for a MC with the following, Silver with Black roof, Cloth/Lea Kaleido (is that half leather?), Chilli Pack, 17" S-Spoke alloys, 3 spoke steering wheel, Air con manual, Heated washer jets/mirrors, Interior Trim Silver, Sat Nav, Sports suspension plus and a few other bits!
Is there anything that I've missed off that is essential come resale or a must have in your opion? I haven't submitted the order yet as I'm undecided which dealer to use but would be interested to know what the lead time is? Are discounts possible or is that still a no go as experienced a while back when I first enquired?
Cheers for your help,
Nats..

Multi Func steering wheel is a nice option. Whereabouts are you from? People are always willing to offer advice on dealers, but it's difficult if you don't know where

I'd suggest William Jack's in Sunningdale, UK. Been OK with me so far!

Thanks for that, I'm in sunny Leeds and undecided between Scotthall or a dealership in Harrogate! So does anyone know roughly what the waiting time is for a MC??

Hey, I'm a newbie as well and I haven't really made my introduction yet so I guess I'll do it here.

I'm an 18 year old Mini driver from Connecticut, USA. I got my Mini Cooper (Nigel) in August (I ordered it in June), and have about 3600 miles on it so far. I looove my Mini, and Mini's in general, and I love researching both the new and old ones. I'm a friendly person who enjoys meeting other Mini owners!

Some info on my Mini Cooper:

- Pepper White
- front bonnet stripes
- black roof w/ panoramic sunroof
- cold weather package
- automatic
- 5-spoke silver wheels

welcome Nats

great choice of car, I've had a few issues with Scotthalls in Ruislip London but sure they are better up North.
Pop into the Northern threads and come to the heartbeat run if you are free in March. It doesn't matter if you don't have you MC by then as you can possibly jump a ride from fellow members.
Look forward to seeing your car once it arrives

other options to consider:-
Stripes??
Sunroof??
Alarm??
CD prep??

But remember to have a budget and stick to it, you can easily go over

keep us informed

Anand

Hi, I am in south wales and waiting times (if ordered now) would be end of March early April!

Make sure you get the TLC package - £100 - 5 years/50,000 free servicing except for tyres brake pads etc!

From what i have read and experienced you'll be lucky to get a tank of petrol and a goodie bag out of the dealers

I think I may save some cash and wait for the 54 plate to come if the new 6 speed gearbox will be out then! I am going to test an MCS on the weekend to see if I like the gearbox more!

Hope that helps

thanks again for your replies, well i didn't know the MC doesn't come with a alarm, guess i better spec that as well. it's a shame i can't attend the heartbeat run as i'm on holiday for the best part of march, would've been nice!
got a limit of around 15.5-16k and best stick to it to be honest, can get carried away, really wanted the HK system, whats the radio boost like? is it better than the standard set up? with cd prep can you add the auto changer at a later date? need sat nav for work purposes otherwise i would've had another £1400 to play around with on options! sunroof would've been nice! is auto air con bascially climate control?
i presume there still doing the TLC package? if so is that still £100?
sorry for so many questions?
thanks in advance, Nats..

Hello Nats,

If I had the 15~16K to spend on a Mini I'd go for a MCS with a chilli pack on, although the insurance is twice as much as a MC . I've got a MC at the moment and am well chuffed with it, although the rattles and hums from the trim can get you down at times

Nats,

Ive got the radio boost with the single CD player option in my MC, sounds reaaly good but cant remember what the std system is like. I like the fact the volume turn itself up and down the faster/slower you go.... I'm easily pleased as you can tell

Hi Nats,

I think that the ASC+T is a well worth while investment for £100 (not sure about price). I have been driving my cooper for 10days now and it has come into action 2-3 times. I am not a boy racer or anything but due to all the cold weather and ice it has stopped me sliding a few times, coming off roundabouts etc. You can tell when it comes on as the orange light flashes on the dash when active.

I test drove a cooper without it and was not as confident in its conering ability (maybe just psychological). Also if you dont get one or the other you are left with an empty switch slot on the dash so instead of 6 switches u only have 5!! And in my opinion it makes the dash look incomplete!!

I have the MFSW, HK and Boost stereo and would highly recommend this combo to anyone. I knew If I did not get the above I would get frustrated with the stereo system and probably spend money on new head unit and speakers etc which would definately not be as integrated as the HK. I knew by getting it I would have a quality stereo and not spend a penny in the future!!

Anyway I hope I have been helpful, oh and welcome to Mini2!

Good Luck

Hi, I have had my mini cooper s, with chill pack, sunroof, mfsw, for 2 month’s now ( however this is my first posting on the forum !)

Anyhow, when I ordered my mini( with the above), and as the chill pack includes a 3 spoke steering wheel, I was expecting to have this supplied with the muti function steering wheel. However when it was delivered it did not have the three spoke wheel but the two. I spoke to my dealer and he said that the 3 spoke was a 2004 spec and was not available yet ?

As any one else had this trouble

Cheers

Copey
