Being sucked into the cult of Mini...

Hello!

Think I am actually being sucked into the cult that is Mini!!! After lusting after them for what seems like years, it may now finally be time to get the wallet out and place the order!

Have been up to the dealers for a quote for my spec this afternoon, but is it really true that there is absolutely no chance of any kind of discount, or freebies being thrown in? The best I could do was free TLC - anyone know anywhere where you can get any better?

Oh, by the way, the spec's as follows:

Cooper + Chili pack
Cosmos Black, with white roof/mirrors
17" S-spoke alloys
White rear light clusters
Asc+T
Manual AirCon
Single MD player - although I have a Sony head unit already, would it be possible to carry this over to the Min?
Dark tint windows
Multi-function steering wheel

Although the final spec will be determined by what my finances will actually allow (prob not quite the £15k that the above costs?!?!), and not what my heart wants!?

Also, where have people gone for insurance quotes - what kinda prices should I expect to pay for a 22 yr old?

Thanks in advance

Ben

Good luck with the order, like the colour combo - doubt you'll get any discount though. Ask them for the kit bag of MINI cleaning products, you might be lucky!

I only got a bottle of Champagne, wow

If horse racing is the sport of Kings, should drag racing be the sport of Queens?

Welcome Ben. You do know that once you're in, THERE IS NO WAY OUT . I like the sound of your spec. but whatever you go for, you're going to have soo much fun.

Hope you get a good deal on your insurance. I'm with AXA and so far, so good (not particularly cheap @ 1200 quidd ). It's worth checking out some of the threads on MINI2 about insurance. Beware of Elephant in particular as some on the guys on here have not had good experiences with them (for example, they don't automatically include the extras like the Chili pack, and they don't even tell you that unless you press them).

Have fun.

And so what is the down side of being sucked in ? ? ? I think you can find a number other just like you here....

I have been infected by this CULT for almost two years now and have more than 50,000 miles on my Cooper and loved every last minute.

Congrats on the decision, although BRG/W is the best of all the possible color's.

Nice spec.

You will have problems ordering the all clear rear light clusters from a MINI dealer though!

MINI have stopped making them and the ones they have are on hold and cannot be sold!! Some no-all police sergeant pointed out they were illegal because of the lack of red reflector, even thought the kit has rear reflectors with it!!.

I have them on mine, but you will have to order them from an aftermarket parts seller from another country.

The ones avaliable from a MINI dealer now have only the indicator lense as clear!

Welcom to the CULT!

You will love your MINI.

I've had mine a year now and still can't believe I drive <looks back> that car.

When you're not grinning inanely, you'll be glowing inside with sheer pleasure.

Wait till you find the undocumented feature that is 4500rpm!!

Don't know about you but even though I have an MCS, I just can't help looking at all other Mini's on the roads (maybe even staring at them) and in carparks I have to find one to park next too, as someone did to me yesterday! cool!

It's crazy isn't it .......... I feel the same way and I've had MAX for 4 months!
When I went to get in this afternoon, four workmen were crowding around him and one of them starting chatting, saying how gorgeous he thinks the car is. I felt like a proud mum...

nice spec can't comment on what discounts dealers will give, I have read on here about £100, trouble is at the moment if you don't buy the car the next guy that walks through the door will!

I'm 21 and have been quoted £788 for my Cooper
