It is believed that modifying the chip will boost it to 123 or thereabouts.

But may be higher, possibly listed low due to insurance(higher numbers=greater cost), variation in motors, etc.

Superchips claim the standard figure of 123 BHP which once the Superchip mod has been done produces an increase of 8 BHP:

Cooper 1.6 +8 bhp £293.75

Which then makes the car 131 BHP.

it was a serious question, silver surfer cheers mate, i can read a book and i did know that bmw say its bhp is 115,
but with the various rumors going about i thought this thread would allow those who know what they are talking about tell us that dont thanks anyway

i beleve the super chips reading of 123 on a cooper
is correct but i think the car has a larger bore exaust
and air intake with adds 8 bhp to the cars standard bhp of 115 the cooper works exaust and air intake adds 8 bhp to there car
(so i was told when I had a tour round the workshop)

SupChips readings were from more than one car, and they were standard cars, nothing fitted like large bore exhausts etc.

From reading loads of threads on Mini2 i've worked out that the Cooper should have been about 115bhp, but BMW kindly made it a little more powerful and most of them come straight out the factory with 123bhp. But to prove it we all need to go and put our STANDARD Mini's on a rollin' road.
