Hi,i need some help/information to the real delivery date of the new Mini version (specially from Paul Mullet).
So,the thing is: i saw in this site all the news about the production date of the new version (and also in the international Mini site),and already saw many posts of users (most in UK) who ordered in April/May and their dealers confirming that they would get the new Mini.
Recently i talked to my dealer (few days after the announcement),who really didnīt know nothing about it,but was going to confirm that information i gave her.
Well, today what is my surprise (and disapointment) when i meet her in the Auto Fair, here in Lisbon, and she told me that the new version will be only available here in Portugal in the start of 2005.
She even said that they werenīt tell their buyers, because it was only coming next year.
Shouldn`t the delivery date be more or less the same,in Europe?
thats a bit odd MIN_luso, i would think that every MINI buit from say June this year will be to new spec, so unless there is an almighty stock pile in Portugal of current spec it does not quite stack up .
I cant really say any more than Goonery, it's a production change, so how/why Portugal should be delayed I do not know. I don't have any information or links with Portugal, but Spain is the same as the rest of the world, and being next door I'd imagine Portugal would be too. But without local knowlledge you'll have to trust your local MINI people.
The way the queue keeps building in Australia, Id be surprised if we ever got the new model.
I was speaking with my dealer today - their current available slots are booked up for months. The earliest possible delivery for a current model car, if you placed your order tomorrow, would be October. Perhaps September.
And for some reason, other dealers dont spread the build slots around. So while my dealer builds a never ending queue, others may not fill their own, leaving spaces vacant... doesnt make sense.
Glad my car is already on its way Thats just waaaay too long to wait for a car.
Some say he loves gaming and that he also loves house work..... All we know is, he's called The ScottyB!
